The Academic Advising Association at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln is excited to host its 10th Annual Academic Advising Conference on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center. The conference will be entirely in-person, and we are excited to see, interact, and network with everyone again. Join us as we re-connect, re-energize, and re-strengthen our professional skills, relationships, and self-care to better serve our students.

Keynote Speaker: Patrick T. Randolph
Patrick T. Randolph is an English language teacher and specializes in vocabulary acquisition, creative and academic writing, speech, and debate. He has created a number of brain- and mindfulness-based learning activities for the language skills that he teaches, and he continues to research current topics in neuroscience and mindfulness, especially studies related to exercise and learning, memory, and mirror neurons. Patrick first started informally practicing mindfulness with his parents in the northern woods of Wisconsin in the late 1970s as a boy. He is currently completing his formal training in mindfulness. Patrick is the author of eight books, over 100 articles, and 200 poems. He has also given over 190 presentations in the States and abroad on a number of topics, ranging from the use of synesthesia in learning to the benefits of mindfulness. In his free time, he coaches volleyball and directs volleyball camps. Patrick lives with his soul-uplifting wife, Gamze; life-loving daughter, Aylene; wise cat, Master Gable; and comical puppy, Bubbles, in Lincoln, NE.

Networking Event at The Mill Coffee and Bistro following Conference All conference attendees are invited to attend an informal networking opportunity at The Mill Coffee and Bistro, located at Nebraska Innovation Campus, immediately following the closing session of the AAA conference. Please come and go as your schedule allows. The Mill has a wonderful menu with a variety of coffee options, teas, Italian sodas, as well as beer, spirits, and wine. Guests can purchase items from the menu with cash or card. |
Location & Parking Information
The AAA Conference will be held in the Conference Center on Nebraska Innovation Campus: 2021 Transformation Drive, Lincoln, NE 68508. Below you will see a map that identifies parking for attendees. Most parking will be located on the north side of campus.
UNL Parking Permit Holders: All regular UNL parking permits, except for Perimeter parking, are reciprocal in the NIC Lot A. Permit holders must notify Parking and Transit Services and request their permit be added to the reciprocal visitor list prior to using the NIC lot. Requests must be made from official UNL email accounts to unlpts@unl.edu.
NIC Visitors (No UNL Permit): City street parking and parking in the paved lot north of Transformation Drive is available for visitors. Payment must be made via the Passport app or by calling 402-395-8957. The full day rate is estimated to be around $7. For questions about NIC parking, contact parknic@goldenrodcompanies.com.
- For on-street parking, enter Zone 80 in the Passport app.
- For the north parking lot, enter Zone 9900 in the Passport app.
