2021 AAA Conference FAQ's

  • Where do I register?
  • What is the registration deadline?
    • Conference materials will be mailed out on Feb. 18th so in order to receive them you will need to register by Feb. 15th
      • If you register paSt Feb. 15th, you will receive conference materials via email
  • When will I receive the instructions for attending the conference?
    • You will receive an email March 3rd with conference details such as the schedule, program, Meeting ID and passcode information, and additional handouts for engagement
  • What are the registration fees?
    • Faculty/Staff- $10
    • Full-time Graduate Student- $5
    • Undergraduate Student- $5
    • If financial cost is a burden for University of Nebraska attendees, please contact conference co-chairs, Kristen Aldrich (kristen.aldrich@unl.edu) or Amanda Lager Gleason (alager2@unl.edu).
  • Can I attend via tablet or phone?
    • See the Phone or Tablet handout for instructions on how to use Zoom for this virtual conference
  • Where can I find information about how to use Zoom?
    • Once registered you may access the virtual conference and watch from your desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device. The platform works best if accessed via Chrome but can be accessed also with Firefox. Typically, Safari is unstable for the most up-to-date content. Presentations will be using the ZOOM interface. If you are not a frequent Zoom user or you will be using a different device than normal you may want to perform a test
  • How do I attend sessions?
    • On the day of the conference, March 4th, go to the AAA Conference webpage to view the schedule and see corresponding Zoom links for the Welcome/Keynote, sessions, and optional breaks.
  • What do I need to do on the day of the virtual event?
    • On the day of the virtual conference you will need a device such as your computer/laptop, tablet or phone to participate as the conference will be hosted on Zoom
    • You will be sent conference materials via mail or email with passcodes for each Zoom link to keep our conference secure 
  • Are breaks required to attend?
    • Breaks are not required to attend but there will be options to engage with colleagues during breaks between sessions and during lunch

  • What do I need to know if I am a presenter?
    • You will receive an email from conference planning committee on how to set-up your Zoom meeting/room and a tutorial that provides how-to's, reminders, and day-of checks
  • Are there networking opportunities during this virtual conference?
    • During lunch there will be an optional networking session through breakout rooms from 12-12:45pm
  • Do I have access to all of the sessions? 
    • You will receive access to all sessions a few days prior to the conference with Meeting ID's and Passcodes
  • Will I be able to see the presenters for each session?

  • Can I ask questions during the sessions? 
    • At the beginning of each session, presenters will share ways for attendees to engage

  • Can I access and view recordings of any sessions from the conference?
    • We will not be recording sessions from this year's conference but materials/handouts from the presenters will be available on the morning of the conference and shared via email afterwards with attendees
